The Eric the Red program places a high priority on the safety of all our participants. Bayside Rowing Club has established appropriate safety procedures to minimize any risks while out on the water. Coach boats are equipped with life preservers, rowers wear ‘life belts’ and our coaches all have official First Aid training. Rowers will learn water safety, understanding of weather conditions and the importance of hydration and proper nutrition.
Practices and races occur rain or shine, so be sure to dress accordingly! Please try to wear warm and waterproof clothing if it rains, and wear long sleeved shirts, hats and sunscreen (at least 30 SPF) when the weather warms up. Staying hydrated is paramount: Be sure to drink plenty of water before, during and after practices!
